Ski Holidays in the Alps during the winter months with organised Duplicate Bridge during the afternoons or evenings.
In Summer the Holidays are more relaxed with the emphasis on enjoying the magnificent scenery and countryside of our National Parks, and sampling the very best of the local produce and cuisine. There are, of course, always daily Bridge sessions to complement the outdoor activities
This friendly organisation was set up in 1997 by Marion & Trevor King who are both passionate skiers and keen bridge players and in March 2012 they celebrated their 50th successful Alpine Bridge Ski week with a full complement of guests. Holidays are arranged for groups of up to 40 people during the winter months so that a full programme of Duplicate Bridge can be enjoyed as an aprés ski activity, or when the weather closes in.
All skiers will be pleased to know that during the day outdoor activities will take priority and they can enjoy the mountains, pistes and cafés either on an individual basis or in small groups with other guests and members of our Alpine Bridge team. However, ski guides and lessons can be arranged privately with the local ski school who have a good reputation for looking after you.
Staying in good quality hotels with alpine character the aprés ski emphasis is on Bridge with seminars and discussions led by Mike Graham, an extremely experienced tournament player and amusing speaker who is always available to talk about those tricky hands and interesting bidding problems. The duplicate sessions are directed by Trevor King who is an E.B.U. qualified County director who has recently been a member of the EBU panel of Tournament Directors. Trevor is also a fully qualified Professional Bridge teacher.
First time skiers or bridge players are welcome, as lessons for both can be organised. Bridge partners can be arranged for those travelling solo.
In summer the daytime activities on offer include sightseeing, gentle walking tours and, for the more energetic, cycling, swimming and golf where possible. The Bridge is very friendly and relaxed and is generally played in the evenings before or after dinner. Bridge partners are always guaranteed.
