Once again, for 2011, Alpine Bridge will be having their summer week of Gentle walking, sightseeing and Bridge in the lovely Derbyshire Peak district. The details and the prices of the 2010 Holiday outlined below will almost certainly change somewhat for the 2011 visit. Guests will be accommodated in the delightful Losehill House Hotel which is situated in its own magnificent grounds at the end of a leafy lane just outside the village of Hope. The Hotel boasts a fine indoor pool and spa as well as a hot jacuzzi style tub on the Patio. There is plenty of private parking within the Hotel complex.
The Hotel is privately owned and is noted for its fine food and wines. There is a comfortable cardroom and a very fine restaurant with a daily choice of menu. Early each evening there will be an informal Bridge talk or supervised play, and a friendly duplicate session after dinner. Daytime activities will be arranged for guest's enjoyment and will include a visit to the pretty villages of Castleton, Litton and Eyam, guided walks to Lose Hill, Mam Tor and Ladybower, visits to the famous Blue John Cavern and mines situated in picturesque Cave Dale as well as a chance to see the famous Derwent Dam, featured in the film of The Dambusters.
The cost of the 6 night / 7 day holiday represents excellent value at £659 per person in half board and which also includes a welcome cocktail party, wine each evening with dinner, all the Bridge costs, administration costs and the guided walking tours, as well as a Barbecue evening and a midweek gourmet dinner. Extras will include the admission charges to any parks and Historical Buildings, lunches and individual's own requirements over and above what is provided by Alpine Bridge. We have also arranged a couple of Golf days at the nearby Sickleholme course for those looking to test out their game with Paul. The Hotel has 21 rooms, all slightly different, and some are actually suites with up to 4 beds in two rooms and a sitting room. There are also 3 mews style apartments, ideal for a couple of friends to share. The price is the same for all rooms, but single occupancy will attract a supplement of £30 per night. Thus, we suggest that our guests who know each other be encouraged to share a suite where possible. Alpine Bridge will have the discretion to place guests where they want to be, as we are planning to have exclusive use of this fine Hotel for 6 nights. Because the venue is extremely popular for weddings, we will have to depart before dinner on the Friday evening 2nd July, having had our Final session of Bridge in the afternoon followed by a cream tea! If you would like to join us on what should be a memorable week, please Contact Us to request a booking pack, and return the completed booking form as soon as you can to us with a deposit of £130 per person. Following our confirmation that the Hotel have accepted the booking, guests will then be asked to contact the Hotel to register a credit or debit card and leave a further deposit of around £100. The balance of the bill will then be settled on departure.
