Ski Holidays in the Alps during the winter months with organised Duplicate Bridge during the afternoons or evenings. In summer, the holidays are more relaxed with the emphasis on enjoying the magnificent scenery of the Alpine National Parks and sampling the excellent cuisine of the region, with daily Bridge sessions and seminars to complement the outdoor activities. This friendly organisation was set up in 1997 by Marion & Trevor King who are both passionate skiers and keen bridge players. Holidays are arranged for groups of up to 40 people during the winter months so that a full programme of Duplicate Bridge can be enjoyed as an aprés ski activity, or when the weather closes in. All skiers will be pleased to know that ski hosts are available each day to show them the best pistes at a pace suitable to their chosen group. This varies from fast and furious led by son Antony King, a former university ski-racing champion, through intermediate levels to those who merely want to ski gently from café to café and relax in the sunshine. Staying in good quality hotels with alpine character the aprés ski emphasis is on Bridge with seminars and discussions led by Paul Spencer, a former England international and a Grand Master. The duplicate sessions are directed by Trevor King who is an E.B.U. qualified County director and is a member of the EBU panel of Tournament Directors. Trevor is also a fully qualified Professional Bridge teacher. First time skiers or bridge players are welcome, as lessons for both can be organised. Bridge partners can be arranged for those travelling solo. In Summer the daytime activities on offer are varied and include sightseeing, walking, mountain biking and swimming in the heated outdoor swimming pools. The Bridge is more relaxed and arranged so that guests may enjoy the fine cuisine in the restaurants at their leisure. Details of future holidays and weekend breaks click here.
